I arrived on shift and fela was just using the toilet. I took handover from Teresa and Claire.
Once finished fela made his way to the table, popped his apron on and then said prayer and ate his lunch.
After lunch fela relaxed in his rocker listening to music.
I then did the board with fela.
Fela then relaxed listening to music whilst I cracked on with chores.
At 3pm we did Makaton signs with fela for bird, sunshine and flower, spring.
I then read fela the story of the week (nature). We then came to a part with a rainbow so I put the rainbow song on YouTube, fela was fully engaged, smiling and tapping along to the beat.
I then put the bobbin song on YouTube and we all participated in the moves for the song, fela was also singing along and laughing and smiling. Fela appeared to really enjoy these songs today and had clearly heard them before.
At 3pm fela had his snack and drink.
At 4pm I asked fela if he would like a dvd, fela said yes and chose a dvd out of his book (happy feet 2).
I then did foot Physio will fela.
After foot physio I asked fela if he was ready for a facial trim. Fela very clearly said “no, no”. I left fela to relax and will try again later.
Emma then came on shift and we did handover.
We then sat with fela and watched the dvd.
At 5:30pm fela had his supplements.
We all sat down for dinner at 5:45pm, we said prayer and fela ate well.
Once finished fela made his way to the rocker and relaxed listening to soul music.
Emma cleaned felas keloids.
At 7pm I asked fela if he was ready for a facial trim, fela said yes, so I did this for him, fela was falling asleep whilst I did this.
i then did the board with fela.
Fela then watched high school musical dvd.
At 7:30pm fela had his drink.
At 8pm fela had his snack and supplement.
At 8:30pm fela made his way to the bathroom, removed his clothes and got into the bath. Emma then assisted with his nighttime routine.
Fela is now happily splashing away in the bath.
Fela has been happy most of the day, Fela has been vocal but not unhappy. Fela has appeared very tired this evening.
