Fela was sitting in his rocking chair looking quiet and content when I arrived at 10:30 to relieve Claire who was called away to her daughter’s school in an emergency.
Fela was finishing his snack and eating very slowly whilst listening to Soul Man album on Plex. I had a quick handover with Claire and Alicia. We decided to offer Fela a walk at home option once he had finished his drink. At 11:25 we engaged him in a Winter Wonderland walk with Lucy Wyndham Read. It only lasted for 10 minutes and Fela had to be persuaded to keep going until the end.
He enjoyed his fishcakes, salad and homemade bread for lunch. After lunch, I read through the social story for going out for a drive with Mama and Michael.
We set off on the drive in the countryside of Staffordshire Moorlands at 13:30, and Fela seemed to enjoy it especially when we reached Leek and he began to see familiar places. He appeared to be falling asleep for most of the drive so Michael played some Phil Collins to perk him up which also seemed to work. Michael dropped me at Green Pastures around 15:15 then he and Fela went to Fela’s house where he covered the rest of Claire’s shift.
