Fela was in bath by 21:20, and in bed by 22:50. He took a longer time than normal to complete his evening routine. The crackling fire was left playing on youtube to drown out the sound of birds and traffic. Tea tree oil to area between toes, aloe propolis to blisters and dry skin on toes, keloid cream to face, tiger balm to chest, back, forehead and behind ears were all applied. Some drops of lavender oil were sprinkled on pillow.
I next heard Fela around 4:00. when I checked on him, he was lying down with his legs crossed and picking his keloids. Despite prompting, he was reluctant to go to the loo. My nose and eyes were irritating me, and it startled Fela so he stormed off to the loo and became agitated.He calmed after 20 minutes.
I decided to put some lavender oil on his pillow again, and a few drops on his hankie to help calm him sufficiently to sleep again. I switched youtube to ‘120 Bible hymns while you sleep’ as the backdrop was black, and I wanted to reduce the light from the screen. Fela returned to bed at 4:35 in a happy mood, and I apologised for disturbing him.
I next heard from Fela at 7:45 when Michael came up to check on us, so he may have slept for a further three hours. He was sitting up and smiling when we brought him his supplements and refreshments. He kept signing for porridge with trimmings and biscuits. I decided to let him rest until the two Zoes arrived due to having had the extra lavender oil in the night. They arrived at 9:15 and Zoe helped him complete his morning routine. At the time of this report, he is dressing, and is quiet and in a good mood.
Although his sleep was disturbed, he may be able to get through the day alright as he had a minimum of 6-7 hours sleep in total.
