Fela seemed very deep in thought when he arrived at Green Pastures but managed to give Adele a nice smile and high five when she said goodbye. He chose to go upstairs and I gave him a wrapped present which he was very excited to open. It was his new fitness trainers for indoor use. We will try them on tomorrow morning after he dresses.
Fela arrived with the book ‘A Quiet Night In’ in his hand so I offered to read it to him. We paused the hymns on youtube, and I received lots of smiles as I read it to him with lots of expression and drama. I was sitting in a chair in front of him as I read it, and not in front of him – like a teacher reading to her class.
I offered to play cards with him and he insisted I play many games and did quite a bit of sorting. sometimes we counted the two decks which cames to 108, sometimes I shuffled then he or I sorted the mixed decks back into blue and red piles, sometimes I said the letter or number as I placed them quickly into his hand. He would call to me with his noises when I left the room so I reminded him to say ‘Come please’ and showed him the sign for ‘Mama’ in makaton.
He ate well, and all supplements given. He worked up a 20 minute sweat as we danced after dinner. At the time of writing, he is soaking in the bath. I have not heard Fela cough or sniff, but I hope to apply tiger balm when he gets into bed.
