06/05/2020 – Sleep shift – carla cornelius

Shift Report:

When Fela arrived at Green Pastures, he was calm and relaxed. He was in the bath by 21:05, and was out at 22:00. A handful of epsom salts was added to the bath.

Fela was in bed and lights out by 22:35 after various creams and potions applied – tea tree oil between two small toes on right foot, aloe propolis to various parts of his skin needing healing, keloid cream and tiger balm to forehead, back and chest. The crackling fire was left on at a low volume on youtube.

I did not hear from Fela again until 5:00 when I prompted him to the loo. He spent a lot of time in the loo after passing a lot of urine. I heard  him sneeze a few times between 5 and 6am. He did not return to bed until 5:45 and I applied some tiger balm to his forehead, behind his ears; he insisted I also apply it to his back and chest. He may have had 30 minutes sleep but then I heard him on and off until  around 7:15 when Michael brought him his apple and tea. It was not until I came to greet him at 7:30 that he started eating his apple. After his refreshments, he asked for 5 so I gave him some time and then prompted him to the shower. He was slow in responding but finally started his morning routine at 8:05.

Fela did his routine well, and was down for breakfast of luxury porridge at 8:55. He helped Michael add the trimmings. Emma and Zoe arrived at 9:20 when he was finishing his supplements. Fela left Green Pastures around 9:40 and was calm and looking keen to get on with his day.

*He had a solid six hours sleep, after which his sleep was broken so he may become more tired and slow in processing as the day wears on. Staff will need to exercise vigilance, and prompt him to have a nap if he is keen.
