I came on shift just before 9am, took handover from Chloe and said hello to fela, fela was just about to sit down and have his breakfast, fela said prayer and was reminded to eat neat and tidy. Once finished fela made his way over to the rocker, and I cleaned his keloids for him and did the board with him. Staff then cracked on with chores whilst fela relaxed listening to music.
Fela then popped his shoes on, used the toilet and got ready to go out at 10.25am, We had a lovely walk around brough park and stopped by the duck pond so fela could have his snack and drink. We then had a lovely drive in the country and made our way to the cottage kitchen country cafe. Fela appears to have really enjoyed his day out, fela has been very happy, smiling and putting his thumbs up. Once back in the car Zoe cleaned felas keloids. Fela is full of smiles.
We then nipped to felas mums house on route home to pick up supplies, fela was full of smiles and we told Carla how amazing fela had been whilst out.we then nipped co-op to put gas and electric on.
We then arrived back home and fela took his shoes/coat/hat off and then made his way to the toilet.
Once finished fela made his way to the lounge and relaxed listening to music and having a cup of tea.
Once fela has relaxed for a little while, I cleaned felas keloids and then myself and Emma did Makaton with fela (wind/windy), fela did really well and even remembered the sign from the other day.
Fela then relaxed watching Andre rieu in concert. Fela had his snack at 15.30pm and staff cracked on with chores, staff then sat with fela and watched the concert with him. Emma then cleaned felas keloids for him as the appeared to be irritating him.
Fela signed to use the toilet, fela sat on the toilet for a while, whilst using the toilet fela became vocal (unhappy) staff asked fela if he was ok and advised him that they would give him 5, fela had a small bowel movement (no blood), fela finished on the toilet at 17.35, fela then had his supplements. Fela day down on the sofa and whilst taking his supplements he was holding his head, I asked fela if he would like some tiger balm on, fela said yes so I applied this to his head and neck.
We then all sat down for dinner at 6pm, fela said prayer well and ate neat and tidy. Fela was smiling and happy throughout tea. Fela then had a biscuit. After he had finished at 18.45 fela got up and moved over to the wall and became aggitated, fela was banging his shoulder off the wall, vocal and clapping his hands and stamping his feet, myself and Emma both came out of the room, allowing fela time to calm down.
Fela finally became calm at 19.00, I asked fela if he would like to sit down on the sofa or rocker, fela chose the sofa, I then did the board with fela and gave him the dvd book, fela chose little women to watch, fela then started laughing.
At 19.40 fela asked Emma to clean his keloids, which Emma did, I asked fela what he would like for snack, fela signed for peanut butter and jam on toast and a hot chocolate.
Fela was sitting with his head down and his hand on his head so I asked him if he would like some tiger balm on, fela said yes, I applied it to his head and neck, fela then started laughing and smiling.
At 20.45 fela appeared very tired so I asked him to make his way to the bathroom, fela did and removed his clothes and got into the bath, I assisted fela with his night time routine and have him a facial scrub.
Fela Is happily splashing away in the bath on writing this report.
Fela has had a lovely day all in all but appeared agitated for a short while this evening.
