Fela seemed a little out of sorts after handover as he was rocking vigorously and stomping his feet on the floor as he rocked. He calmed down when I offered him a pedicure and seemed to enjoy it. I cut his nails and filed them and filed the dry skin on the soles of his feet. Then I put almond oil on his feet, followed by use of the foot massager. Whilst his feet were on the foot massager, he pointed to his face so I trimmed his facial hair which he seemed to enjoy.
I did some HANDLE with Fela as he was watching a sealife video on youtube with calming music. I put on all his sensory lights and replaced the batteries of the ones which were not working.
He enjoyed it so much that he was willing to have his snack delayed. He became excited at the prospect of his chicken nuggets which smelled delicious as Claire was making them.
Fela became agitated at the dining table and was making jerky head movements [see arousal state] . I think he was overly hot because the sweat on his forehead was apparent and his jumper was quite tight. But he wouldn’t let us remove it until after dinner. It was as if he was trying to get the sweat to flick off his forehead on to the table, as weird as it sounds. I managed to coax him off the dining chair by promising him a DVD. He chose ‘The Perfect Man’ which Claire and I watched with him on and off whilst we did our chores. I had replaced the batteries in his blue mini fan so I gave it to him to help cool himself down. He was significantly calmer after we removed the jumper.
I recited a poem and a prayer to Fela before he got in the bath as we did not have the chance to read a story. I also gave him a kiss. He has been touching a lot of things around the house and engaging in a lot of OCDs.
At the time of writing he is splashing away happily in the bath. Hopefully he will sleep throughout the night and wake up refreshed.
