When Fela arrived, we did the board and offered him a cup of tea. He took a long time to take off his shoes. he was busy watching me in the kitchen but I could tell he was lethargic.
Michael and I were waiting for a call from the plastic surgery consultant at 9:50, but it was delayed so we were unable to go out in the morning. also, the gardener did not leave until near 12:00. Fela asked for the tray and cards, but he was content to play just one round. I asked him if he wanted a story, and he said “yes” so I read Olaf’s Frozen Adventure which he seemed to enjoy. I asked him to pint to Olaf. He eventually understood what a snowman looked like [coming from the tropics, I was never keen on making a snowman so Fela has probably never made one.] Afterwards, I printed some images of Olaf from coloringhome.com. Fela enjoyed colouring one image especially the orange carrot nose.
After lunch, we did the board. Then I prompted Fela to put his shoes on so we could go to the Butcher’s. I popped in to collect the meat for Team Fela for the week. We went for a drive in the countryside and passed through Werrington, Winkhill and Leek. I pointed out the windmills and sheep to Fela as we drove.
On return home I prepared a fruit salad with yogurt for Fela’s snack. Once again, he took a long time to take off his shoes, then he went to the toilet and took a long time to get out so his snack was after 16:00. Afterwards I engaged him in writing a letter. He did a great job.
After dinner, Fela was falling asleep in the chair, and I could not persuade him to engage in dancing or bouncing on the ball. He made the sign for sleep so I had to keep trying to keep him awake. I gave him a tennis ball to roll under his feet, and gave him an aloe vera leaf cut in half so he could keep rubbing his keloids. He dozed for a few minutes periodically and then just before 20:00, he stirred fully. After his snack, we got him ready to leave for home. we arrived just before 21:00 and Zoe welcomed us. When we left Fela was on the toilet, and about to remove his clothes to get in the bath.
*Fela had blood in his stool twice today. It was bright red which suggests he burst a capillary when straining. This should soon clear up, but let’s monitor it.
