After he got out of the shower, bandages were put on because Fela had been picking at his right keloid and made it bleed when bandages were left off yesterday evening. We didn’t want him picking at them throughout the night.
Fela was smiling when lights were extinguished at 22:45. He was asked whether he wanted socks, light blanket over summer duvet, eye mask and fan and he said yes to all of them.
I didn’t hear Fela again until 2:30 when he became very vocal so I got up and prompted him to the loo. He came straight back to bed but did not settle so I came up to him about 3:00, and rubbed sleep oil on his back, chest, inner arms, changed the music to water sound bamboo with piano. He was quiet instantly and I didn’t hear from him again until I went to wake him at 8:00. The bandages were still on.
Fela woke up after 15 minutes and sat up in bed. He then had his morning refreshments, we did the board and he entered the shower at 8:55. He was down for breakfast at 9:35 as it took a while to get the bandages right.
Zoe had been informed that we were running late so they could delay coming to pick up Fela until 9:45. Unfortunately we received the call shortly afterwards that Zoe had a medical emergency with her son.
At the time of writing, Fela is watching episodes of ‘Tom & Jerry’ on Plex.
*Yesterday the nurse showed us that you can cut the Jelonet and the Hypafix to the required shape so this was a bit fiddly but this stops jagged edges from protruding.
