Fela has been very chilled out this afternoon and evening and fixated on watching DVDs. On my arrival, he was watching ‘The Perfect Man’ and when it was finished, he chose ‘High School Musical’. He then chose ‘The Perfect Man’ again. Zoe engaged him in playing cards in between.
Fela came into the kitchen and took the hot chocolate out of the cupboard and put it on the worktop. He also put a mug on the worktop and a spoon. Paige and I had been discussing the sign for ‘honey’ in makaton so this may have triggered it. I told him he could have hot chocolate later.
Fela did want to watch ‘The Perfect Man’ again tonight but I told him “tomorrow” accompanied by the makaton sign as he had already overdone it for the day.
Just before and after dinner he was listening to music – ‘Bread’ on Plex followed by Lionel Ritchie on Youtube. I tried persistently to engage him in dancing to Lionel Ritchie but he stubbornly refused by saying “No, No” so he ended up watching Mama dance. I did get him to sing”I love you” during the song ‘Hello’ and “Say you , say me” whilst pointing to you and me. I praised him a lot for saying these words so well.
As I write this report, Fela is rocking gently in his rocker as he listens to the end of the Lionel Ritchie video. He seems very tired so hopefully he will sleep well. He has just gone to the loo prior to entering the bath.
