I arrived on shift at 9am, Fela came downstairs and sat in the dining room, and had his breakfast, I then had handover from Emma and Teresa. At 09.30, the board was completed with Fela and he listened to music whilst staff carried on with chores. at 10.30am, Fela had his snack, Fela requested more Bombay mix so more was given. Fela then popped his shoes on and used the toilet, we then went out of house, we had a lovely walk around Tunstall park , Fela was extremely happy, laughing and smiling. We arrived back at about 12.30, Fela took his shoes off and the board was completed with Fela, he relaxed listening to music before lunch was served, Fela said prayer well and ate neat and tidy. FEla then relaxed in the lounge listening to music. At 2pm, Fela used the toilet, he had a normal bowel movement but blood was spotted in the toilet bowl. At 14.50 Fela requested a nap so we closed the curtains, phone unplugged, gave Fela a blanket and he lay down. Fela did not go to sleep. at 15.30, Fela jumped up and went to the toilet and had another B/M, no blood this time. at 16.15, Fela had his snack and sat at the dining table watching staff do a jigsaw, laughing and smiling. We then went out of house for a drive to the petrol station, Fela appeared to enjoy the little drive once again laughing and smiling. We arrived back at 17.35, he took his shoes off and went to the toilet (no B/M), he then had is tea and supplements. at 19.10 Fela had his keloids cleaned and relaxed in the lounge watching a DVD of choice (Aladdin). Fela used the toilet again at 20.00 hrs but did not have a B/M, once out he had his snack, he kept laughing and asking for peanut butter on toast then cheekily with a smile said “jam”, i made a peanut butter and jam on toast for Fela, he started to laugh and smile. at 9pm, Fela made his way to the bathroom, on writing this he is happily splashing away.
Fela has had a really good day, full of smiles and laughing.
