Shift Report:

Fela was in bed and lights out by 122:35, and I did not hear him all night until 6:05 when I went to check on him. Because it was so warm, his bedroom window was left slightly open, and I chose  some relaxing music on youtube with a picture of the night sky as it played for 8 hours which would be enough to keep him through the night. i put it on slightly higher than normal to drown out the sound of birds and traffic. i also applied a few drops of lavender oil to his pillows and tiger balm to his back, chest and forehead.

He was sluggish getting out of bed to use the loo, and after passing some urine, he then spent a whole hour making noises and stood over the toilet even though he had already flushed it. Despite many verbal prompts, he did not respond to washing his hands. It was only after Michael came upstairs at 7:00 to check on us, that he was able to persuade Fela to come out after shuffling objects and washing his hands.

His nose had been running whilst in the loo, so perhaps he was felling physically out of sorts from hayfever symptoms which often start first thing in the morning.

At 7:15 he returned to bed, then had his supplement with water, pear and apple tea, apple. I then offered him a lie down whilst the cafe jazz music was playing. He asked for porridge, then 5.

Despite prompting at 8:00, Fela did not enter the shower until 8:15. He did his morning routine well, and was down for breakfast at 8:55. Fela became a bit noisy during breakfast when Michael reminded him to be ‘neat and tidy’. He probably protested because he wanted to make a mess, and Michael was giving him a stern look. He calmed down and finished his breakfast and supplements. Chloe and Zoe Lou arrived just before 9:15, and he left with them just after 9:30. He seemed calm and content on departure.
