Shift Report:

When I arrived just before 21:00, Fela was in the bath. Zoe gave us a detailed handover and prompted Fela out of the bath and upstairs. She showed me how to dress Fela’s keloids with the bandages. We squirted a lot of aloe vera gel on the keloids prior to bandaging and we put some around his eyes to help soothe and heal. I completed Fela’s dressing and he was in bed by 22:00. I was about to offer to brush his teeth for him but he was able to do it himself.

*Fela’s CD player was not playing so we left Smooth FM on a low volume. I heard Fela go to the loo around 23:30, and then at 6:15. When I checked he cameras, he seemed to be moving in his bed so I’m unsure just how much sleep he had. It may be that the radio disturbed him.

I came in to greet him at 7:30. He sat up and had his supplements, grapes and lemon green tea with a wedge of lemon. I then re-bandaged his keloids because he had removed it overnight. Fela was very good at holding the bandages in place whilst I taped it in place. I squirted lots of aloe vera gel on the keloids beforehand to allow it to work under the bandages; I also applied some with my finger around his eyes. He requested porridge but then indicated he wanted to lie down again, so I offered to bring his porridge upstairs. I propped him up in bed, then he drank his 60 ml aloe vera juice, then ate ate his porridge and seemed to enjoy it. He then leaned back on the pillow. Michael arrived, followed by Zoe and Teresa together around 9:00.  I gave Fela kisses and said goodbye whilst he was still upstairs in bed around 9:15.
