On arrival at Green Pastures Fela removed his shoes with help from Teresa, and then went upstairs to the loo – his usual routine. Afterwards he wanted to stay upstairs on the red settee. I did the board with Fela, and he was happy with the recommendation of the DVD – ‘Two Brothers’ about the tigers who were separated and then found each other again. I gave him some aloe leaves to rub on his keloids whilst I hoovered the house.
Fela signed for crisps and he also clearly wanted to lie down so I gave him an early snack of corn chips and salsa dip just after 3pm. I then prompted him to lie down whilst facing the screen so he could still watch the film. Whilst michael was doing some baking downstairs, I checked on Fela who appeared to be watching the film half-asleep. I went to wake him at 5pm and he was sitting up and the film was finished so I am unsure how much sleep he actually had.
I did the board, and Fela was happy at the prospect of dinner. We played cards and whilst he was sorting the cards into two separate packs after I shuffled them, I updated some of the Activity Planner.
Fela spent a long time adjusting the rubber band around the cards. He looked very lethargic which is typical on a Saturday – may be he didn’t sleep at all but only rested.
He had his supplements, and after dinner, sat down on the armchair. He looked happy, but was disinclined to dance or bounce on the gym ball. He was content just to watch me dancing. After his snack, I gave him 30 minutes for the food to settle, then he had his footspa with 4 drops of ylang ylang essential oil. He enjoyed this therapy for 30 minutes, then I prompted him to the loo. At the time of writing this report, he is relaxing in the bath.
