On my arrival, Fela was in the lounge watching ‘Little women’. Once Emma and Theresa left after Handover to Angelia and me, I did the board with Fela. He seemed okay with the activities. HANDLE was on the board for after the film, and he asked me to massage his head before the film ended, he then pointed to the spikey yellow ball so I did skull tapping on his head. I interrupted this to offer him some aloe propolis cream as he was picking his face a lot, and the skin was very dry. I also put some tiger balm on his forehead as the pollen count was very high today, and will be each day for the rest of the week according to the forecast. This seemed to relax Fela and bring out the smiles.
After dinner, Fela listened to jazz lounge music on youtube whilst I did some more HANDLE skull tapping with him, and some physio ball rolling with the tennis ball under his feet. He also used the two grey stress balls. In order to distract him from picking his face, I decided to give him a manicure as his fingernails were looking a bit long and in need of filing some of the rough areas. He enjoyed this very much.
He also enjoyed listening to Angelia and I chat as he was having his camomile tea, snack and listening to music. Fela accepted mama’s invitation to have a slow dance before his bath which he entered at 21:20 after using the loo. He was soaking in the bath at the time of my departure at 21:30, and seemed relaxed and content when I waved goodbye to him.
