22/12/2019 – Afternoon shift – carla cornelius

Shift Report:

Fela was smiling a lot on his arrival. He very much enjoyed lunch – a Mexican spread. After the main course, we pulled crackers after dessert. It involved playing a musical game with whistles which was a lot of fun. Fela kept blowing his whistle at the dining table even after Emma and Zoe had left.

We listened to a few Christmas carols from the film ‘white Christmas’ soundtrack. Fela began to nod off so I prompted him upstairs and on to the red settee. He napped for one hour and then I woke him up at 4.40pm.

After a delayed drink of juice as his snack, I engaged him in cutting out snowflakes from laminated sheets. He enjoyed this very much and was concentrating until he finished all six snowflakes.

After dinner of leftovers, we had a short ‘festival of lights’ service with Bible readings and prayers. Fela enjoyed this. We then opened the cards Fela brought for us, and we wrote for Fela. We watched some of the Royal Variety Show on youtube.  We tried ringing Nanna Hazel but there was no answer so we left her a message.

On returning home, Fela was happy. We left him in the bath around 9.30pm and in Emma’s capable hands.
