Shift Report:

Fela was asleep on my arrival, I had handover from Chloe.
At 9.45am I heard Fela, so I went upstairs and gave Fela his morning refreshments, Fela was very slow and looked tired, I sat with Fela and chatted to him, Fela just didn’t look like he wanted to get up, so I asked Fela if he would like to lie down, Fela instantly pointed to his pillow and signed Sleep, Fela lay down and closed his eyes and I returned back downstairs for 10am.

We heard Fela at 11.15am and Emma went upto Fela, he was very happy and full of smiles, Fela got into the shower and then I completed his morning routine with Fela, he did well and was downstairs for approximately 12.15.

Fela said prayer and ate breakfast well, after the board was done and Fela relaxed listening to music, while staff did chores.

We then got ready to go out, Fela went to the toilet and had a bowel movement, Fela became vocal unhappy, we continued to get ready to go out and reassured Fela it was only for a short walk, Fela put his coat on and once outside he was very vocal, we again reassured Fela that it was only a little walk and we could come home after and relax watching a dvd and a foot spa.

We started to walk around the block and Fela started to become more agigtated, stamping his feet, jumping up and down and gutteral noises, we got to the walk way on bellerton lane and Fela started to cut through the walk way, we asked Fela if he wanted to go home and Fela pointed and started to walk towards his house.

Once home Fela stood outside for a couple of minutes agigtated, he then came into the house and was in the hallway agigtated, I encouraged Fela to remove his rucksack, Fela continued to be very agitated, jumping up and down, hitting his hands on the wall, very noisy, rocking side to side very fast, stamping his feet, we left Fela to calm and this lasted for approximately 30min, he then went into the lounge and continued to be agitated for approximately another 10 minutes, Fela then sat in his rocking chair, Staff kept checking on Fela throughout.

Fela calmed and staff helped Fela to get changed, Fela then had his snack, we then sat together and started to watch a film, Fela began to get agitated and wanted five minutes, so staff gave Fela alone time, Fela became agitated and it seemed like everytime staff spoke to Fela he became agitated, staff kept checking on Fela.

Fela then relaxed listening to Joseph before we had our evening meal, Fela ate well and after he relaxed and I updated the board.

At 7pm myself and Fela did walk at home while Emma did the ironing, with lots of encouragement from staff Fela did smile at at times looked like he was enjoying it, after ten minutes Fela went to sit on the toilet, he passed urine and had a small bowel movement.

Fela returned to the lounge and Emma gave Fela a manicure and I checked Fela’s feet, no blisters or signs of anything that could be causing Fela pain or discomfort, after Emma trimmed Fela’s toe nails and we were all laughing about how Fela is king of the castle, this made Fela grin.

We all then sat together at the table while Fela had his evening snack, after Fela relaxed sitting in his rocking chair listening to relaxing music on YouTube, Fela then had a phone call with Mama.

Fela then completed his bath routine excellent with Emma and is now happily relaxing in his bath.
