Fela arrived just before 21:00, and was in the bath by 21:10. He looked calm, and I was told he had just done Walk at home. He enjoyed soaking in his bath, and the face scrub. Fela completed his evening routine well and was in bed and lights off by 22:45.
Before lights off, aloe propolis was applied to the area of the underside of his right foot where Fela has torn off some dead skin. also, tea tree oil was applied to his athlete’s foot between his small toes, keloid cream to his face and tiger balm to his forehead, behind ears, chest and back. due to the heat, the duvet was left off so he only slept with the duvet cover and weighted blanket inside. The computer was playing up so I left him with nature sounds playing on his mobile phone.
I next heard Fela just after I visited the loo at 2:00. I prompted him to the loo, and he quickly returned to bed. I offered him another duvet cover and left the one with the weighted blanket at the bottom of the bed as it was still quite hot. I also gave him a pot of keloid cream to apply as he was picking his face. I switched the nature sounds on his phone to hymns and left them on repeat.
He may have had about three hours sleep, and I’m not sure how much he had since because he was very quiet but awake when I checked on him at 5:45. He looked happy and alert enough so I prepared his supplements, pear and tea which I brought to him at 6:15. He gave me a big smile, and I did the sign for ‘today is Thursday’ and for ‘pear’. I also switched the computer on and played some jazz cafe music.
He did not settle back to sleep despite my efforts so I prompted him to the shower at 8:00. Fela completed his morning routine with enthusiasm and signed for porridge with honey, nuts, raisins, chocolate and cherry on several occasions. He was down for breakfast by 8:45. When Claire and Emma arrived at 9:20, he was listening to music on the radio. When they left around 9:45, Fela seemed happy and eager to start his day’s activities.
*Fela was limping slightly when he got out of bed this morning. A wound dressing was applied to the sensitive area under Fela’s right foot. Microporous tape was used to keep it in place, then ankle socks put on to help secure it. This was passed over to Emma and Claire and they were asked to buy SUDOCREM cream as this would probably work better then aloe propolis since it contains a water repellent base.
*Fela should be able to go walking as long as he has this dressing on, secured with microporous tape and light cotton socks.
