26/03/2020 – Afternoon shift – carla cornelius

Shift Report:

Michael picked up Fela from Green Pastures. Claire had to leave by 2.30pm to collect her daughter before the nursery closed.

On arrival at Green Pastures, Fela was very hot so I prompted him to remove his jogging pants and jumper, gave him some shorts and prompted him to remove his socks. The weather was quite hot today.I made him lemonade for his snack which he found refreshing.

He was content to sit on the red settee and listen to saxophone jazz with the fire crackling on youtube. He did some colouring in his ‘calming therapy colouring book’ before dinner. After dinner, I did the board with him. He chose Kanye West Sunday service  to watch on youtube whilst I prepared his room.

Fela has eaten well, taken all his supplements and I’m just about to prompt him out the bath.

*He tried vocalising two words persistently today. One, we discovered was porridge so he can have some tomorrow. The other, we weren’t sure about so we asked him to show us. He went to the kitchen and chose pear and apple tea. I only gave him a third of a cup as it was after dinner so fruit teas are to be avoided. He was pleased with himself and I praised him for his speaking.
