26/06/2021 – Day & Evening shift – michael cornelius

Shift Report:

On arrival Fela still in bed, stirring his drink – had been doing so for some time, and had not yet started his grapes. Is he turning into so ‘stay in bed Saturday’ teenager – having missed that stage!

Teresa gave Nadia and I handover and went off for a well earned few days off.

Nadia too charge of Fela, getting him out of bed, onto the loo, into the shower and supervised, morning routing followed dressed  and downstairs for about 10:30. In the meanwhile I had slaved over his breakfast, carefully pouring cornflakes into a bowl.

After breakfast Fela rested before we went out – Nadia set about emptying the fringe and cleaning before returning everything, she also offered to wash up following breakfast – but pride prevented me from agreeing to her request. I told her to pass my congratulations onto her mother for the home skills training she had imparted to her daughter.

We drove to Tunstall Park and completed a first lap, stopping for his snack at around 12:00. We started on a  second lap but Fela clearly wasn’t really up for it, so we cut off the large lake and returned to the car and back to Deepdale.

I made Fela’s lunch whilst Nadia attended to Fela.

Fela enjoyed his lunch and afterwards sat and listened to some music. I washed up – almost having to fight Nadia for the privilege!

Daniel arrived for his shift, and Nadia conducted the handover.

This afternoon Fela’s activity was to watch a film. Daniel set up plex and invited him to choose – he chose ‘Beautiful Day in the neighbourhood’ He visited the bathroom twice during the film.

He had his afternoon snack and requested juice whilst watching.

After the film Daniel made the final preparations for relocating to our house. I think we moved just about everything bar the kitchen sink!

Fela became his usual excited self as we arrived, and spent some time with Muma reading Christian poems by Helen Steiner Rice to him.

After dinner Fela listed to some music and is now in the bath.

Over yesterday and today I have been very impressed with both Nadia and Daniel they have picked up most of Fela’s processes very well they are working well with Fela and in a short period have become quite competent. Particularly Nadia this morning taking full charge – on her own – of Fela’s morning routine – an excellent job.
