We arrived at Fela’s around 9:20, and he was in the shower. He was processing slowly but seemed happy to see me. we completed his morning routine, and was down for breakfast at 10:30. Just before coming down for breakfast, Fela became aroused and was stomping his feet. He soon calmed but we figured that he suddenly became hungry as it had taken two hours to get him downstairs since he awoke. He was a lot calmer once he had eaten.
We did the board to indicate we would be going to Green Pastures. He was happy with this. When we arrived, Fela was instantly captivated by Michael who went to finish off the pasta salad. As I packed the picnic basket, Michael started preparation for dinner. We left Green Pastures at 12:40 and drove to Queen’s Park in Crewe. Fela enjoyed the drive. All in all we walked for 35 minutes but this was interrupted by lunch on the picnic bench and a visit to the toilet. On the way home, we stopped at Sainsbury’s in Hanley to pick up some gluten-free cornflakes as Fela ran out of it this morning.
On our return, after Fela had relaxed a bit whilst listening to music and had his snack, I read him the new story of ‘Trolls’ which he enjoyed very much. He lay down on the red settee for 45 minutes before dinner as he was clearly very tired.
He was asking for chips the whole day so Michael cooked some chips in addition to rice which was his original plan. He really relished his lamb curry with chips. I let his dinner settle then tried to engage him in some exercise. He bounced half-heartedly on the gym ball for 20 minutes, then had his kalms and snack – hot chocolate which he was requesting all day, and peanut butter on a rice cake.
We got ready to leave Green Pastures at 20:30, and arrived at his home just before 21:00. Teresa greeted us and Fela entered the bath just before we left. He seemed calm and contented, having had a lovely day.
