Fela was in bed by 22:40. I checked on Fela just before midnight as I was about to go to sleep, and the room was quiet but then I heard him at 00:30. I prompted him to the loo but after returning to bed, he did not settle and kept being vocal so I went up to him again just before 1:00. I discovered that his head was propped up high on the pillow, and the bed sheets had come undone. So I asked him to get out of bed so I could tuck the sheets back under the mattress. I then prompted him to lie down with his head flat on the pillow; I applied sleep oil to his forehead, wrists , back and chest, then covered him with the duvet cover and the light blanket on top. I also helped him to position the eye mask over his eyes and not just above them.
Fela was quiet immediately from 1:05. I next heard him at 7:00, so all in all he may have had over 7 hours sleep. He was vocal on and off throughout the morning, but seemed otherwise okay – just extra touchy-feely. He was in the shower for 8:15 and down for breakfast at 8:55. I read him a few prayers before he entered the shower, and he also insisted on removing the cards from the board and lining them back up to his satisfaction.
Claire and Teresa came to fetch him and he was out the door by 9:25. Fela may need a short nap in the afternoon as his sleep may have been broken more than was apparent.
