29/05/2021 – Evening shift – carla cornelius

Shift Report:

On arrival, Fela was relaxing in his rocking chair as he watched ‘Annie’. I had a quick handover with Claire and Rex.

Claire did the board with him, and he was happy with all activities. Whilst Claire went to prepare the pizza for dinner, I engaged Fela in ball rolling as part of his foot physio and playing different musical instruments as part of his HANDLE. He enjoyed playing the maracas and lummi sticks to the beat of the Drifters CD playing in the background. I joined him with playing the castanets and tambourine. He really enjoyed this. I then finished off the session by rolling the yellow spikey ball on his head.

Fela then ate dinner, and enjoyed the pizza, dessert and chat. He then continued listening to his music until it was time for his sensory activities. I did the washing up then joined him in the lounge. He enjoyed his foot spa, sensory lights including salt lamp, penguin, flowers and shoulder massager. A sea life video was playing in the background on youtube. I helped Fela adjust the foot spa settings from time to time.

At the time of writing, Fela is relaxing in the bath. All in all, he has had a relaxing evening and has been yawning his head off.
