29/09/2019 – Day & Evening shift – carla cornelius

Shift Report:

Maxine and I took Fela to church. It was obvious he was looking forward to it after not going for two weeks. We had a warm welcome, and Fela really enjoyed it. He seemed a bit sluggish, and this persisted throughout the day.

He was content to sit downstairs in his favourite armchair after lunch, and listen to ‘Beautiful hymns’ on youtube for three hours. He enjoyed listening to the chat, and we showed him  his new clothes although he did not seem that interested. I managed to get him up and dancing briefly after dinner. Nana Hazel rang but Fela was unable to speak to her as he was having his snack.

He seemed to dose for a few minutes before his evening snack which he ate very slowly. He was rushing me through his evening routine by pulling my hand to touch each item of clothing he had to take off. this was evidence that Fela’s brain was not processing well enough to do it on his own as usual.

At the time of writing, he is relaxing in the bath. He seems very tired indeed, after two nights of broken sleep.
