Fela had a bowel movement when he came out the bath so he was delayed getting into bed at 22:45. We said prayer than lights out with soft hymns left on. When I checked him at 23:15 , he was snoring.
I noted Fela was pressing my hand a lot to prompt him with the tasks on his evening routine. I think he was overly tired as he had been sluggish most of the day and especially after dinner. I kpt saying “gently” as Fela does not realise how hard it is felt when he presses your hand.
I heard Fela at 4:15 so I prompted him to the loo. He needed prompting to get out the loo, as he was standing up becoming quite vocal. He went straight back to bed. and we heard him at 7:15. Michael took him a pear and a cup of tea. Fela went to the loo then took a while to munch his pear and drink his tea. I did the board upstairs with him, and then he insisted on taking one of the bags with the TEACCH cards and sorting through them meticulously the way Maxine did yesterday. He chose a dinner card and chocolate card. I understood this to mean he wanted a cooked breakfast not the cereal that was on the board, and he wanted to take chocolate home.
I made chocolate bark comprising melted chocolate with mixed seeds, pecans, tablespoon maple syrup as the dark chocolate was bitter – 85% chocolate, sprinkle of raisins and dessicated coconut. I spread the mixture on a plate layered with greaseproof paper to prevent sticking and left it to harden. Hopefully this will last Fela throughout most of the week. We all need to learn the makaton for chocolate because Fela clearly requested chocolate and not cake.
Fela did his morning routine well, smiling from time to time as the aromas of Michael’s cooking wafted up the stairs.
*His electric toothbrush was not working so please charge it to test; ensure it is plugged in at the wall.
Fela was down for breakfast at 9:00. all supplements given. Emma and Maxine came to collect him around 9:45. He was calm and happy on departure.
