Chloe and I arrived at Carla and Michael’s at 0905. Fela was still upstairs and came down at around 0920. Chloe did the board with fela. Fela helped to put the toppings on his porridge, sat down, then said his prayer and ate nicely.
Fela finished at around 1010 and we got ready and left to come back to fela’s House at 1020.
I did the board with fela as soon as he sat down. Fela chose to listen to music while staff did chores. Fela appeared to be happy and content.
Fela had snack at 1050 and then went to the toilet at 1110. Fela sat on the toilet and repeatedly asked for 5 when staff prompted him. Fela did pass a bowel movement. Then washed his hands and got ready to go out for a walk.
We had a brisk walk round Tunstall Park. Fela appeared content until we got towards the exit. Fela became very vocal. We asked if he wanted to go round again. He said no. So we went back to the car. Fela was very loud and took a while to get into the car. He was sweating, when we got in the car. Staff told fela to take out his flask and have a drink. Which he did. Then he went quiet and seemed calm.
We arrived back at fela’s house at 1310. Lunch was ready at 1320. We said prayer and fela ate nicely with staff. Fela took his dishes to the sink when we was done with verbal prompting.
Staff then did the board with fela and he chose a dvd to watch. I did some ironing while fela always happy in the lounge.
I then asked fela if I could sit with him at 1410. He said yes. I asked hif he would like to play a game or play cards. He said no.
Fela had snack at 1530 and then we got ready to go to the shop at 1550. Fela appeared to enjoy the drive. We were back by 1620. Fela then used the toilet and resumed watching his dvd. I again asked fela if I could sit with him he nodded and then pointed to his keloids. I asked if he wanted me to clean them. He said yes. When I’d done. Fela applied his own cream.
I sat with fela while he watched the rest of the lion King. I asked fela if he would like a hand massage. He said no. But pointed to his head. I asked, head massage? And he signed please. So I gave fela a head massage and also did some handle skull tapping. This took us till 1745.
Fela then started to fall asleep so I asked him if he would like to play cards or do a puzzle. He asked for 5.
Dinner was ready at 1800. I asked fela to set the table, which he did. We then said prayer and fela ate nicely with staff. Fela then asked for more, I gave him a spoonful more of rice. Fela then asked for a biscuit. While eating this. Fela became very loud and vocal again. Jumping in his chair. So chloe and I gave him some space and he calmed down immediately.
At 1840, fela listened to music for an hour. I gave fela a choice of 4 activity symbols. Fela chose domino’s. Then I did the evening board with fela. Fela ate his snack at the table with staff and then we played a game of dominos until it was time to get ready to leave.
Fela used the toilet before leaving and had another bowel movement.. We arrived at Carla and Michael’s at 2100.
