I was not feeling well so I didn’t do much with Fela during the evening shift. Michael took over and did the lion’s share so I could rest.
Fela enjoyed his bath and was in bed for 22:30 after I applied his keloid cream, tiger balm and tea tree oil between toes. I hear him at 23:00 so went to check on him and reminded him it was time to sleep. He was quiet by 23:15.
I heard him grunting at 3:oo so I prompted him to the loo. He was in bed again by 3:30 and I gave him a whiff of lavender oil and a small application on his forehead to hopefully help him drift back to sleep.
I heard Fela again at 5:00 so offered him a banana as his body may have still thought it was 6:00 due to the time change. Fela kept being noisy so I checked him and he still had the banana peel in his hand looking as if he was stuck with his mental processing. So I took the peel and proceded to do some peacemaker massage on his back with the yellow spikey ball from his back. He seemed to enjoy it. After 5 minutes, I told him finished and said “time to sleep, we don’t want to wake Michael”.
Fela seemed to drift back to sleep from 5:30 – 7:15 when I went up to greet him with a green tea, and a handful of red grapes. He seemed happy to see me. All in all, a disturbed night but he had three bouts of sleep, the initial one being about four hours. He might need a nap in the afternoon but some exercise this morning would be ideal.
Fela did his morning routine very well with Michael barking instructions to “hurry up” from time to time. He was down for breakfast at 8:45 – a lovely cooked breakfast. He is now having his supplements and I’m about to make him a ginger, lemon and honey tea. Emma and Maxine are due to collect him around 9:30.
