Baking: Date Cake
1/8 pint water
3 oz margarine
½ lb dates chopped
2 oz Demerara light brown sugar
3 oz self-raising flour
1 egg beaten
- Put first 3 ingredients in saucepan to simmer.
- Keep stirring for 30 seconds.
- Wait for mixture to cool.
- Fold flour with beaten egg into mixture
- Put in oven at 100-120 ◦C for 50 mins.
