Drive to Westport Lake for Cycling at Green Door (Option 1)

*After discussions with Julian, the following strategies have been put in place:

– on arrival, someone is to get out of the car to let them know Fela has arrived.

– when Fela arrives all the chocolates and other foods will be locked away in the cupboard.

– only canned drinks will be left in the fridge. Fela can have 1 can of his choice after his cycling.

A Social story will be prepared to explain this to Fela.

Remember to:

• take a packed lunch with dessert [if Fela requests an ice cream from the ice cream van, please explain that he can have an ice lolly when he returns home. If it’s a stage 1 week, he can have a watermelon ice lolly, if it’s a stage 2 week, he can have a banana and strawberry ice lolly]
• call to cancel and rebook for the following week if Fela is not going.
• If you cannot get through, please call Carla so she can let Green Door know of the cancellation.

During Winter

If it’s windy or icy, you will not be allowed to cycle because it would be too risky. Please explain to Fela that the weather is not good for cycling.

You can access the canal walk and explore somewhere new if Fela is okay with it.

*Pay and Dispay are now operating in the car park, but you can use the disability badge at no extra charge in a disability bay or any other bay if none are available.

Remember to take £7.00 for his hour’s cycling session on the day. A companion bike  and a standard bike have been booked for both staff members to take turns using.

The standard bike enables the second member to follow the companion bike and render any assistance as needed.

If you use a companion bike plus with three seats, you will not need a standard bike.

*If you are not comfortable with a standard bike, a trike can be requested for the second member.
