You can tell Fela that we are in the month of June. 

Wooden Calendar

Steps:

• Ask Fela “what month is it?”
• to prompt him you can point to the wooden calendar or use the makaton sign.
• Prompt Fela to move the yellow chick up or down until its beak is pointing to the correct month of the year.

Writing

Method:

• Read the poem to him before he starts.
• encourage Fela to write under each line with a sharpened pencil and eraser (that way he can erase at the end if he has made any mistakes, and try again)
• Read the poem to Fela again.
• Reward Fela with lots of praise and well done sticker!
• Remember to keep any finished work in ‘Education at Home’ box so Carla can look at it, or photocopy and send to Liz.
