Education at Home: Writing Various Cards & Letters

• Happy birthday card for Nanna Hazel.
• Thank you letter for Grandad Johnny
• Father’s Day card for Grandad Johnny (to be provided by Wednesday)

Nanna Hazel’s birthday is on 15 July but she will be away for her birthday so the card needs to arrive sometime in June.

Father’s Day is on 15 June so it will need to be poasted by the end of May to get to Grandad Johnny in time.

Fela can write his Father’s Day card for Michael in the second week of June, so there’s still time.

*Please read the cards to Fela before he begins to write.

Method:

• Read the words on the card with Fela – point to each word as you read on the front, inside and back
• Prompt Fela to write ‘Dear…(name of person)’ at the top of the inside of the card.
• Prompt Fela to use a pen or pencil to sign his name on the bottom of the inside of the card.
• Prompt Fela to add Kisses if appropriate – XXX
• Well done, Fela!
• Do not seal the envelopes as Carla may wish to add a few words before sealing.

*The cards can be brought to Green Pastures on Sunday 1 June.
