Fela kept signing for various things whilst he was watching Aladdin. Michael and I were in and out of the room, going up and down the stairs. I don’t think he was focusing on the film, or maybe he wanted us to sit with him. I sat a for a while and he seemed to concentrate better.
We sat down for dinner at 18:10. I did the board around 18:45. Fela kept jumping up from the armchair to pick cards from the folder – he selected footspa, and began to arrange the cards in his preferred order. finally we got them in a logical order then went through them together. We rang Nanna Hazel as we had not been able to ring her on Sunday. I went upstairs as Fela was distracting me, so we decided to delay Fela speaking to her until Sunday as he was engrossed in his music – mainly Lionel Ritchie, Luther Vandross, ‘Earth, wind and Fire’.
Fela requested hot chocolate so I gave him that for his snack along with rice cakes, peanut butter and a bit of honey. Whilst he ate, I played a half hour of Pastor Paul delivering a talk on youtube. This was because he requested church since this morning. Afterwards, Fela pointed to his feet repeatedly. I explained that it was too late to have a footspa so he took my hand and wandered to the bedroom to look for something. I think it was the nail kit. He wandered upstairs then touched the nail treatment kit so I told him I would do his nails quickly. It turned out he wanted me to do his hands not his feet. He took out the nail file from the nail kit so I filed his nails and the skin around his nails then applied almond oil. Afterwards, I prompted him to put on his shoes and outerwear. We left for home and were greeted by Emma on our arrival around 21:00. Fela went straight to the loo, where he was still signing various requests. We left as he was about to enter the bath.
In general, Fela has been very energetic today and communicating a lot.
