The day shift began with a comprehensive handover from Marc, during which all relevant information regarding Fela’s wellbeing, mood, and planned activities was communicated. Petty cash was checked, balanced, and signed appropriately. All scheduled domestic chores were completed during the morning. Carla was contacted by phone for guidance on the day’s activities. She advised on the priorities for the day, and her suggestions were followed. The activities board was updated accordingly, and Fela was informed of the plan. He acknowledged and agreed with the schedule.
Later in the morning, Fela was supported to go for a walk at Chatterley Whitfield. The walk lasted approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. During the outing, he was offered a snack and a drink, both of which he accepted. Fela appeared calm and in good spirits throughout the walk. Upon returning home, he changed into clean clothes and seemed settled. Shortly afterward, Michael and Carla arrived to greet Fela and dropped off some supplies for Fela.
Lunch was prepared and served. Prior to returning to the lounge, Fela used the toilet and had a bowel movement. In the afternoon, he relaxed in the lounge and watched a film of his choice. He participated in a Makaton session, where he engaged well. A snack and a drink were offered and accepted .Following his evening snack, Fela requested an ice lolly, which was provided as requested. He appeared pleased and enjoyed it. Fela was later supported with foot physio exercises and used the “handles” as part of his physical activity routine.
Brandy arrived shortly after to begin the evening shift. A thorough handover was given to her, and the petty cash was checked, signed, and handed over in good order.
