07/10/2022 – Evening shift – carla cornelius

Shift Report:

Fela was relaxing on the settee on my arrival. He was doing colouring with Julie. After Julie left I did the board and offered him a manicure which he enjoyed.

After dinner, I let Fela listen to music for a while to let his food settle and did the board. He chose walk at home with Leslie after being offered walk at home with Lucy or Gym ball as well. At 19:20, he commenced walk at home and seemed to be enjoying it but became agitated after 15 minutes. So I paused it and let him settle. I switched to relaxing jazz music. Fela settled after about 10 minutes. I suspect his bandages were making him uncomfortable after sweating in them.

He enjoyed his homemade popcorn and walnuts for snack.  Fela entered the bath at 21:20. I created lots of lovely bubbles by swishing the water with the bath gel as the hot water was running. He had a big smile on his face when he got in and throughout the bath. After a lot of fidgetting and twirling and touching of objects, lights were out by 22:5o.

*I put nature sounds on when Fela got upstairs after his bath but within minutes, he used the remote to put on Classic FM so I have left it playing on volume 9.

*Fela has been asking for ‘egg, butter, cooking, licking the bowl’ a lot this evening so I kept telling him Saturday – tomorrow and Sunday will be cake after lunch at Mama and Michael’s house.
