Shift Report:

Fela requested a facial scrub just as he was about to get out the bath. He  seemed to find it quite soothing. Tincture was administered at 22:10 and Fela was in bed by 22:25. Sprinkles of lavender oil were applied to his pillows, fan left on and just the duvet cover and light blanket used to cover him. This was because it was very hot and humid. Notably, I only dressed him in loose, cotton underpants and cotton vest to help keep him cool.

I next heard Fela at 2:10 so went up to check him and prompted him to the loo. He had a pee then returned to bed instantly. No lights were put on.

*Please bear in mind, if attending to Fela in the night only use dim lights e.g. lamp, spot light but avoid overhead light as this will wake him up.

I decided to put the duvet back in the duvet cover and remove the blanket as the temperature seemed to have dropped a bit, and I wanted him to feel snug as he drifted back off to sleep.

Michael greeted Fela at 7:35, and his supplements and refreshments were given at 7:45. I greeted Fela at 8:00 and did the board with him as he finished his refreshments. He was in the shower by 8:35 after having a second cup of tea with lemon as he signed for lemon. He was sweating profusely after he came out the shower so this slowed down his morning routine as he kept having to wipe himself down. I didn’t prompt him to put on any socks in order to help him cool down. He was also a bit snotty and the pollen count was very high so I asked Michael to administer echinacea x 2 before breakfast.

Fela was down for breakfast at 9:10 and left Green Pastures at 9:45 with Claire and Dan; he seemed calm and in a good mood.
