On arrival of my shift, Fela was quietly relaxing in the lounge. Mina gave us a detailed handover. Carla then called to check on Fela and provided guidance on how to approach the day.
We updated the board and went through it with Fela. We explained that we would not be going outside due to the rain, and he agreed to participate in exercise at home instead.
Fela later had his bone broth, and after a short while we completed a workout session at home with Jules. Fela participated very well and engaged in most of the exercises.
Lunch was then prepared. Carla and Michael arrived during this time. Fela’s bed was adjusted and turned 180 degrees as it had been tilting on one side. Carla and Loretta also hoovered behind the headboard, as there was some dust present.
After lunch, Fela assisted with drying the dishes. He then used the toilet, and the room was made comfortable for him to have a nap. Fela slept for approximately twenty minutes.
When he woke up, we completed makaton activities, and I read a story to him. Fela appeared to enjoy the story, and I explained that the moral was about the importance of sharing. We also went through the communication book, focusing on feelings. When asked whether he liked the story, Fela pointed to the green tick to indicate yes.
Later, Fela was served his snack, and we completed foot physio together.
Esther later arrived for her shift, and we completed handover.
