On my arrival Fela was at Mama and Michael’s house, myself and Claire went in Fela’s car to collect Fela.
Once there Fela got on his shoes and we headed back to Fela’s house, Fela was signing for food on the way home and on the drive way.
Fela relaxed while listening to music and staff did some chores.
Fela had his morning snack and then continued to listen to music, at approximately 12.30 we did some Makaton signs, we did Summer, Flower, Garden, Sunshine and Bird.
At 12.50 the district nurse came and they changed Fela’s dressing, ahe asked for a list of the stock we use and an estimated amount, she is going to try and get it so we have a weeks worth if dressing once a week, instead of having to keep ringing up.
After we had our lunch and Fela ate well, once sitting in his rocking chair, Fela was requesting more food, Fela continued to watch call of the wild and was relaxed and happy.
After I tried to encourage Fela to go on a little walk but he clearly refused on three separate occasions, so I encouraged Fela onto his exercise ball, Fela bounced on his ball for 45min, after he relaxed and Claire did some Makaton with Fela, after he had his snack and enjoyed his chick peas which were flavoured and roasted.
Teresa came on shift and we had handover, we then started to cook the evening meal, we had dinner and Fela ate well, after Fela became agitated, vocal and rocking, this lasted about five minutes, Fela then relaxed listening to music.
We then got ready to go out, we went on a neighbourhood walk, we walked for about 40min, Fela was vocal the whole way around until we were approaching his street, once in the house Fela was vocal and it took a few minutes to remove his bag and shoes.
Fela then had his evening snack and I did the board with Fela and he was so happy then, full of smiles, Fela relaxed listening to music and I took his dressing off.
Fela then completed his bath routine well and is now splashing away happily.
