18/06/2026 – Sleep shift – Brandy Kahura

Shift Report:

Fela was out of the bath a little later than usual, as he took some time before going into the bath. After creams were applied, Fela was in bed by 22:36.

A 1 tog duvet was used as his room felt very warm, with a temperature of 23.4°C. The fan was left on a low setting. Fela settled well and slept through until 02:13, when he woke and I prompted him to use the toilet. He was a little vocal at this time but returned to bed quickly.

Fela was able to settle back to sleep at 04:40 and remained asleep until 06:07, when he woke independently.

I went to his room, greeted him, opened the curtains, and switched off the radio and fan. Fela appeared vocally unhappy on waking. I had a bath teach card ready to explain that the downstairs shower was not working and that he would be having a bath instead. Initially, Fela did not allow me to explain and remained unsettled until he went into the bathroom. Once there, he became calmer.

I used several teach cards to help explain the revised morning routine. Fela accepted the changes well and had a bath without issue. He remained calm throughout and then went to his room to get ready for the day.

We then came downstairs, and Fela had his breakfast followed by his supplements. He independently went to the kitchen several times to pour himself glasses of water and appeared happy and settled.

Day staff arrived while we were in the dining room, and handover was completed.
