20/06/2026 – Day shift – Brandy Kahura

Shift Report:

On arrival for my shift, Carla called and listened in during the handover from Esther.

Carla informed us about the planned activity for the day. As the pollen levels at Biddulph Grange Country Park were not too high, she suggested that Fela could go there for a walk.

We started baking, and Fela joined in. He assisted with mixing the cupcake mixture and preparing the carrots. He also set aside some mixture for himself as lickings. Fela remained with us in the kitchen, and his snack was served while he relaxed and watched us tidy up afterwards.

Later, Fela changed into fresh clothes, and we got ready for the walk. Carla arrived just in time and drove us to the park.

Although the weather was quite warm, the large number of trees provided shade, making it feel pleasant and cool. The sound of the flowing streams was very calming as we walked through the park. As usual, Fela enjoyed touching the trees along the pathways. Mina and Carla also stopped to hug a couple of trees. Fela walked at a slower pace than usual, which allowed everyone to comfortably keep up with him as Carla guided us around the reserve.

After the walk, we returned to the car. Fela changed his T-shirt and had his lunch and cake before we travelled back home.

On arrival home, Fela was assisted to get ready for a nap, and the lounge was prepared to make it comfortable. Before leaving, Carla dropped off a few items for the house.

After waking from his nap, Fela watched the film Flushed Away. He appeared tired throughout much of the afternoon and was occasionally trying to doze off while watching the film.

Later, he was served his afternoon snack. Loretta arrived for her shift and we completed handover.
