21/05/2025 – Day shift – Mercy Kemboi

Shift Report:

We received the morning handover from Kingsley, and we all signed the petty cash log.During the early part of the shift, I completed the household chores while Mina updated the activity board. Shortly before she finished, Carla called to provide guidance regarding Fela, who was on amber alert. Carla advised that Fela be offered a nap to support his wellbeing. Fela was given a light snack and a drink, and a resting area was prepared for him on the settee in the lounge. Although he lay down, he did not fall asleep. Later, he was encouraged to participate in a “walk-at-home” exercise session with Nicky, which he engaged in positively.

After the exercise, lunch was prepared and enjoyed together. Following the meal, Fela assisted with drying the dishes. He then requested another nap, as he appeared to be dozing off on the settee. We supported this request, and he rested for approximately 30 minutes. Once awake, he engaged in a Makaton session followed by storytime. Fela chose “101 Dalmatians,” and he seemed to enjoy the reading session, showing interest throughout. He was then offered another snack and a drink. Afterwards, he sat listening to music and appeared calm and content. Later in the afternoon, he participated in his foot physiotherapy session. Toward the end of the shift, Kingsley arrived for the evening shift. I provided him with a verbal handover, and we signed the petty cash log once again.
