The following are the highlights and key features of Fela’s day:
- Played on tongue drum with sticks whilst listening to a concert of George Benson jazz guitarist and bad.
- Coloured print-outs of numbers 1-10, 1, 2 and 3 including objects and word.
- Went out for drive in countryside. Mama pointed to houses, windmills, horses, lambs and signed the words to show Fela.
- Gave Fela a facial trim after he requested it with word and sign then pulled Mama to get the kit.
- Gave Fela a manicure.
- Read email from Adele to Mama, Michael and Fela; showed Fela photo of Adele; explained that when Adele is feeling better she will come to visit us.
- Practised makaton signs for “drumming” and “eating” – two of Fela’s favourite activities.
- Fela watched Michael as he was making lamb burgers and fajitas.
Due to the rainy and windy weather, we did not get out for a walk in the morning. We seemed to be short of time throughout the day. Fela’s dinner was delayed because he signed for toilet just as we were sitting down to eat. He became agitated twice at the dining table but we guessed it was because he was overly hungry. He was also fixated on the jars of sauces so we removed them from the table.
He was not inclined to exercise after dinner so I just managed to prompt him to do 15 minutes.
At the time of writing, he is splashing in the bath.
*I have been making the bath lightly hotter so that when I prompt Fela out of the bath around 22:00, the water is still quite warm.
