26/01/2023 – Training shift – mina adomako

Shift Report:

Had training on team fela at Michael and Carla’s resident on 26/1/23. Time started was 14:05hrs. Training was facilitated by Carla Cornelius and Michael Cornelius ( managers).
Michael begun by having interaction with me in order to know me better.After which he talked about the life history of fela.
He went further to stress on the need to be familiar with the kitchen. Kitchen knives are to be kept in the kitchen cupboard for safety. Carla also added that there is an emergency bottle which is kept inside the fridge door. The purpose is to alert emergency cases for them to take note of that. Again Carla added that the toaster, used for fela’s breakfast should always be cleaned. I was shown where the recipe folders are to be kept that is on top of the fridge and was also told to o put used towels (yellow colour) for kitchen in a bucket provided in the kitchen.
Carla stressed on the need to use brown/red towels for bathrooms.
Michael and Carla took me through fela diet and meals. She said fela is on a special diet and all his diet should be gluten-free and dairy free and always make sure that any food product we buy we read the ingredients written boldly on the package before it is being purchased. Samples of products were brought for me to identify the one’s best for fela to consume and those I should avoid.
Michael and Carla further more inform me about fela ‘s new car and the need to always be with fela in the back seat and make sure he has put on his seat belt for his safety.
Carla and Michael again took me through daily activities and duties which needs to be carried out such as cleaning, guid to report writing, cleaning and tidy check list house hold task and duties, guide to hand over and so on and so forth.
Further more they talked about health and safety. They made mention about the bitepro jacket and arm guard which is supposed to be worn any time I come for shift for my safety from fela incase he bites me. I was shown where the first aid box was kept that is in the kitchen above the fridge and the accident book.
Lastly I was taking through the website how to login and out and took me through the staff zone, care plan rota, staff manual, weekly activities, risk assessment, ABC reports and the notice board.
We ended training successfully around 5pm.
