Myself and Zoe awaited Micheal and Felas arrival as he had slept at Carla and Micheals. On Fela’s arrival I helped to unpack Felas bags, Fela was adgitated, stamping feet and being vocal. He eventually removed his shoes and coat and went to sit in his rocking chair to listen to music.
I then went to collect the Aldi shopping. On returning myself and Zoe put away the shopping during this time at 10.40 he became adgitated rocking backwards and forwards, making loud guttural noises, clapping hands and sweating this lasted around 10 mins. We went to sit in the staff room until he calmed. We then returned to put the rest of the shopping away and started to complete some chores.
The district nurses then arrived and redressed his dressings. They used a small piece of jelonet which she cut and used a adhesive dressing. Carla then spoke to the nurse via telephone.
It was then lunch time. Fela used the toilet before sitting at the dining table. We said prayer together and Fela ate neat and tidy. He then returned to his rocking chair to listen to music. Fela was vocal on and off but also was full of smiles afterwards.
Later Fela requested his TEACCH cards folder and handed me the dinner card, I placed this at the bottom of his board. Myself and Claire then did makaton Fela did really well making the signs. Claire then asked Fela if he would like to read a book, his reply was ‘no’.
He then sat at the dining table to eat his snack. Afterwards he used the toilet and went to sit back in his rocking chair to listen to music. Fela has been signing for ‘Spaghetti, Fish, Pesto, Pasta and food’ after finishing his snack. I told Frla that he was having fish later for dinner.
Fela recueved a facial trim from claire which he seemed to really enjoy. Followed by new dressings (jelonet and a small adhesive dressing).
