28/07/2026 – Sleep shift – Brandy Kahura

Shift Report:

After Fela had finished his bath, he completed the rest of his evening routine and we went to his bedroom. His creams were applied, and I gave him a massage. His room temperature was 24.7°C, so Fela slept without a vest, with both the air conditioning and the fan left on a low setting and 1 tog duvet.

Fela fell asleep at 22:08. He slept until 01:19, when I prompted him to use the toilet. He passed urine and spent a short time rearranging a few items before returning to his bedroom. Although he settled back into bed, he was unable to fall asleep.

Approximately 20 minutes later, Fela independently got up again, went to the bathroom, passed urine, and returned to bed. He continued to struggle to get back to sleep. At 04:13, he independently went to the toilet for a third time, passed urine, and returned to bed smiling and appearing in a happy mood. He eventually fell back asleep at 04:30.

At 06:30, I went to Fela’s room, greeted him, gently opened the curtains, and switched off the radio. We came downstairs, where he took his morning supplements. He remained very vocal throughout the early part of the morning. He then had a shower, brushed his teeth, and ate his breakfast with his smoothie.

After breakfast, Fela took his remaining morning supplements, and we went upstairs to complete his personal care routine and get ready for the day. During this time, he repeatedly asked for church.

We later came back downstairs, and Fela used the toilet. At the time of this report, he was normally vocal and settled.
