30/04/2025 – Day shift – Mercy Kemboi

Shift Report:

We received a full handover from Shahab at the beginning of the shift. Petty cash was checked and signed accordingly.

Morning routines were completed, including general house chores. Fela was in a calm and cooperative mood throughout.

Later in the morning, Fela was supported to go for a walk at Chatterley Whitfield. The walk lasted approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. While out, he had his snack and appeared to enjoy both the exercise and fresh air.

Upon returning home, Fela was supported to change into comfortable indoor clothing. He then spent some time sitting in the kitchen, calmly engaging while we prepared lunch. Lunch was served and Fela ate well.

After lunch, Fela requested a nap. A quiet and comfortable room was prepared for him, and he lay down to rest. He slept for approximately 35 minutes.

Following his nap, Fela was gently woken and supported to participate in a Makaton session, which he engaged with positively. After the session, he was offered a light snack, a cup of tea, and an ice lolly, all of which he accepted and enjoyed.

Throughout the afternoon, Fela remained relaxed, listening to music in the lounge. He appeared content and displayed no signs of distress.

Later in the day, Fela requested a second nap; however, this was not offered, as it was felt it could negatively impact his ability to sleep during the night. This decision was made in Fela’s best interest to support his evening routine.

Dan arrived for the  evening and sleep-in shift. A detailed handover was given, and petty cash was checked and signed once again.

Fela had a calm and settled day overall.
